I’m Christina, a German artist living in Denmark. I draw my inspiration from nature and have been focusing on creating art not just inspired by, but in cooperation with nature, creating pigments from plants and stones. And I want to share my process with you!

What to expect
In this workshop I want to share with you how you can make your own watercolors from the earth that surrounds you. I will be showing you
- how to identify rocks that can be used,
- how to turn earth and stone into useable pigments
- and how to make watercolors with simple materials.
At the end of the workshop you will have created two to three lightfast and nature friendly watercolors, made from scratch, that you can take home with you, as well as the knowledge to repeat the process at home.
I provide all necessary materials and tools, as well as earth and rock samples to use. If you have a rock you’d like to bring, feel free to do so!

The first times I will offer this workshop for a special price of 350,- DKK. Later prices will increase. As a thank you, I would like to take photos during the workshop, that I can use to market future workshops.
The payment is binding. Christina Moringen always has the right to cancel the workshop and refund the payed money. The money won’t be refunded due to sickness or other cancellations of the participants, but you are welcome to resell your spot or give it to someone else, if you cannot make it.
Who is this for
Anyone from experienced creative, who wants to expand their skill set, to the curious newbie, who has never painted in their life, are welcome in this 3 hour course. If you are interested in creating sustainably and in cooperation with nature, and aren’t afraid of possibly getting your hands a bit muddy, this is the perfect workshop for you.
Use your watercolors
I personally love the ability to collect little rocky souvenirs on trips and travels, special events or simply around my home, and turn them into something new, a living memory, that can accompany me in new experiences. These handmade watercolors also make great gifts for the special people in your life!
With your self made watercolors, you can paint just like with any other watercolor. Paint your own nature paintings using the natural texture of earth pigments and get to know the great variety of color below our feet!

Jeg hedder Christina, og jeg er en tysk kunstner. Jeg får inspiration fra naturen og har været fokuseret på at skabe kunst i samarbejde med naturen. Min store fascination er at udvinde pigmenter direkte fra planter, sten og jord.
I denne workshop vil jeg gerne dele min proces om at lave akvarelfarve ud af jorden, vi omgiver os med. På workshoppen kommer vi igennem:
- hvordan du identificerer sten, som er egnet til pigmentlavning
- hvordan du laver dem om til fine pigmenter
- og hvordan du laver dem til akvarelfarve fremstillet med simple materialer
Ved slutningen af workshoppen får du et lille sæt af akvarelfarve med hjem, som du har lavet selv fra bunden. Og du ved nu, hvordan du kan gentage processen derhjemme.
